BATON ROUGE, LA (August 30, 2018) – Capital Area United Way’s Women United Committee held its annual Celebrate the Power of Women breakfast on Thursday. Sponsored by BASF, this event included a panel discussion featuring inspirational women leaders as well as an awards ceremony to recognize women making a difference in the Capital Area.

“This event serves as a great opportunity to recognize and thank women in our community who make a difference through United Way,” said Jolen Stein, BASF’s Southeast Communications Hub Manager and United Way board member. “This is BASF’s fourth year to sponsor this event, with this year bringing together a panel of inspirational leaders as well as incredible award winners and attendees.”

The panel discussion was moderated by Beverly Brooks Thompson, President and Executive Counsel of Brooks Thompson Consulting, and featured the following participants:

  • Kris Cangelosi, Founder and Artistic Director of Cangelosi Dance Project School and Company
  • Terrie Sterling, Executive Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center
  • Padma Vatsavai, Founder and CEO of Vinformatix
